You are Worth a Carrot or Two

I have to share this with you!

This advertisement that was presented here at the Ranch Bernardo Inn at beautiful San Diego.  There is an amazing concept in fine dining at the El Bizcocco Restaurant going on here on Friday night.  The ad for the event reads as fools:

A FEAST FOR YOUR SENSES THAT DOESN’T HAVE TO INCLUDE MEAT. OR BUTTER. OR MILK. OR EGGS.

WOW! What a concept?  Most people can’t grasp that cooking without butter, milk, eggs and meat can actually be delectable.

This dining experience is called FOOD with ROOTS.  It’s a six course tasting menu. My mouth is watering. There is nothing that tastes as good as vegetables and fruits. I sometimes refer to this as  God food; food that is as close to nature as possible. Hmmm.

How does: honeydew gazpacho, cantaloupe sorbet, heirloom tomato terrine, pine nut ajo blanco, kohlrabi knots, and parsnip consomme sound?

Alright so most of us may not have the skills to prepare veggies at this level of gourmet cooking, but when was the last time you just took a raw vegetable, like a locally grown, organic carrot and just ate it, noticing, savoring and appreciating the taste?

Believe me, that experience will change your relationship with food.  Remember YOU are worth a CARROT or two!!
